Fly Snake Guide Set

A choice of Universal guides, the premium choice for round blanks with a radiused ‘no-prep’ guide foot.  Or Snake Brand Original guides with a standard flat wire guide foot,  suitable for any fly rod and a better choice for cane rod flats.

A convenient option at a 5-10% saving on buying the same set as individual items.

Sets include a suitable number and size-mix of colour matched snake and stripping guide(s) for your rod length and line rating, as shown in the table within the listing pictures.

The sets include a tiptop ring, a u-bend hook keeper and a good quality Pac Bay or Seaguide zirconium stripping guide (or two where appropriate).   The stripping guide can be selected in standard upright (Pac Bay), or angled (Seaguide) anti-tangle formats.    If you prefer to use a different stripping guide such as an agate,  please purchase individual guides listed separately.  Please note the smallest size Universal guide made is #1/0.  Where a #2/0 is indicated a Snake Brand Original guide will be supplied.

If you are buying a guide set to go with one of our rod blanks in the same order, select this option we will supply the correct size tiptop.

If the guide set is for your own blank, you will need to send us a message confirming the size of the tiptop that you need.  Ask your blank provider or measure the diamater of your rod blank about 1cm from the tip end with a pair of callipers.  If in doubt, pick the next size up, or buy some extra sizes (individual tiptops listed separately).  Buying one or two extra will usually cost less than the postage cost of replacing the wrong size.

Tiptop sizes available: Standard loop 1.4mm (#3.5) – 2.2mm (#5.5).   Large loop 1.8mm (#4.5) – 2.4mm (#6).  A large loop tiptop will be supplied for rods rated line #8+.
